Meaning

Cell division is the process by which one cell splits to become two daughter cells.

About Cell Division

There are two types of cell division; mitotic cell division, which results in 2 new cells identical to the parent, and meiotic cell division which results in 4 unique gametes each with half the DNA required for a new organism.
