Lifestyle

Key Stage 2

Meaning

Lifestyle is a description of the type of activities you do and how much of them you do.

About Lifestyle

The type of job you have is part of your lifestyle. Is your job active like being a builder, a cleaner a postman? Is your job passive like being a computer programmer, a receptionist, a research scientist? Active jobs involve exercise so they keep you healthier than passive jobs.
Your hobbies are part of your lifestyle. Do you spend your free time on computer games or watching tv? Do you spend your free time playing football or running around? Active hobbies that get you exercising help you be more healthy and live longer than passive hobbies.
The amount of sleep you get is part of your lifestyle. A child should sleep around 9-10 hours a night. An adult should sleep 7-8 hours a night. People who sleep too much tend to have shorter lives and be less healthy. But we don't know if it is because too much sleep makes you unhealthy or whether being unhealthy makes you sleep more.
