Key Stage 4

Meaning

A light gate is a sensor which can be connected to a data logger to measure and record the speed of an object and the time taken between light gates.

About Light Gates

Light gates use a LASER beam which can be broken to tell when an object passes through.
The data logger must be programmed with the length of the object for the light gate to be used to calculate the speed of the object.
