Magnification

(Redirected from Magnify)

Key Stage 3

Meaning

Magnification is when the image of an object is made to appear larger than the object.

About Magnification

A convex lens can be used to magnify the image of an object.
Different lenses have a different magnification.

Calculating Magnification

Image Length = Object Length x Magnification

Magnification = (Image Length)/(Object Length)

\(Magnification = \frac{L_i}{L_o}\)

Where

\({L_i}\) = Length of the image.

\({L_o}\) = Length of the object.
