[[Bioleaching]] is a process of [[Extraction of Metals|extracting]] [[mineral]]s from their [[ore]] using [[bacteria]] then using [[Extraction of Metals by Electrolysis|electrolysis]] in [[solution]] to [[extract]] the [[metal]] form the [[mineral]].

===About Bioleaching===
[[Bioleaching]] has several stages:
#Waste [[Low Grade Ore|low grade ores]] are fed to [[bacteria]] where they take in the [[mineral]]s and through [[Chemical Reaction|chemical reactions]] convert them into [[soluble]] [[mineral]]s.
#The [[solution]] is then [[Filtration|filtered]].
[[Extracting Metals by Electrolysis#Electrolysis of Aqueous Minerals|Electrolysis]] is then used to [[Extraction of Metals|extract]] the [[metal]] from the [[mineral]].

: [[Bioleaching]] is cheaper than [[smelting]] but takes much longer to [[Extraction of Metals|extract]] the [[mineral]]s than conventional mining.
