Volatility is the tendency of a liquid to evaporate into a gas.

The more volatile a liquid the lower the temperature it turns into a gas.
Volatility is particularly important for flammable chemicals. Flammable chemicals which are also volatile are more dangerous because their gas can spread and be ignited far from the liquid.
