Meaning

Implantation is when an embryo sticks to the wall of the uterus and is surrounded by tissue from the lining of the uterus.

About Implantation

If implantation does not occur the embryo is aborted by the uterus.
Following implantation the tissue surrounding the embryo becomes the placenta and amnion.
