Meaning
Biomagnification is the build up of toxins along the food chain.
About Biomagnification
- Biomagnification happens because, at each stage of the food chain, an organism may consume many organisms at a lower stage. If toxins are bioaccumulating in those organisms the concentration of toxins will increase as the toxin is passed up the food chain.
