The four seasons.

There are four seasons; spring, summer, autumn and winter every year.

Singular Noun: Season

Plural Noun: Seasons

Adjective: Seasonal

The different seasons are caused by how hot or cold it is and how much daylight we get.

In the summer season the days are long and the temperature is hot.

Winter is the season when the days are short and the temperature is cold.

In the spring season the days are getting longer and the temperature is getting higher.

In the season of autumn the days are getting shorter and the temperature is getting lower.

There are four seasons; spring, summer, autumn and winter every year.

A season is a quarter of a year with certain patterns of weather.

Seasons are caused by the tilt of the Earth on its axis.

When the Northern Hemisphere is tilted towards The Sun the Northern Hemisphere is in summer and the Southern Hemisphere is in winter.

When the Southern Hemisphere is tilted towards The Sun the Southern Hemisphere is in summer and the Northern Hemisphere is in winter.


The Northern Hemisphere is tilted away from The Sun so it is in winter. The rays of light are spread further apart when they hit the Earths surface in the Northern Hemisphere and closer together in the Southern Hemisphere.


On the right the Northern Hemisphere is tilted towards The Sun so it is in summer while the Southern Hemisphere is in winter. On the left the Northern Hemisphere is tilted away from The Sun so it is in winter while the Southern Hemisphere is in summer. At the top and bottom the Hemisphere's are half way between winter and summer so they are in spring and autumn.
