Key Stage 3

Meaning

Metres Cubed (m3) are the scientific unit for measuring the volume of an object.

About Metres Cubed

Metres cubed are shortened to m3 with a lower case m and an indices of 3.
Metres cubed (m3) are rarely used in experiments because they are a very large quantity. So normally millilitres (ml) would be used instead.
A meter cubed is the volume of a cube with sides 1m in length. Since a metre is 100centimetres then a metre cubed is 100 x 100 x 100 centimetres cubed (1,000,000cm3).
A full bathtub may be around 1 m3.
