Negative feedback is a process used in homeostasis that reduces something when it is too high and raises it when it is too low.

About Negative Feedback

Negative feedback is used in thermoregulation. When the body temperature gets too low the body responds by trying to increase its temperature. When the body temperature gets too high the body responds by trying to reduce its temperature.
Negative feedback is used in blood glucose regulation. When the concentration of glucose in the blood gets too high the body acts to reduce the concentration. When the concentration of glucose in the blood gets too low the body acts to increase the concentration.
