An LEDC is a less economically developed country which is relatively poor compared to other countries.
NB: Because exam boards are ridiculous, they can't agree on a single phrase for this concept. As a result AQA terms it an LIC (Low Income Country), Edexcel refers to it as a Developing Country and OCR refers to it as an LIDC (Low-Income Developing Country). Note that LEDC is the only abbreviation that turns up at the top of a google search for the term without other words being added.
