Meaning

A Euglena is a unicellular microorganism that has a cell membrane, cytoplasm, mitochondria, chloroplasts, a nucleus and a flagellum.

About Euglena

Euglena move using a tail called a flagellum.
Euglena can make their own food because they contain chloroplasts.
Euglena have chloroplasts but they are not considered plants because they do not have a cell wall, they are unicellular and they have a flagellum.
The Euglena gets rid of waste using a contractile vacuole.
Euglena have an eye spot which can sense light and allow the Euglena to respond.
