Capitalism
Capitalism is an economic and political ideology, in which the trade and industry of a sovereign state or nation are controlled by private owners or companies with the main aim of making profit, rather than controlled by the state for the benefit of the population as a whole. The main characteristics of Capitalism include the possession of private property, so owning your own possessions instead of them being owned by the state, which is a key trait of Communism, and voluntary exchange, which is the exchange of goods for a price as set by a private seller instead of by the state. The best example of a Capitalist system in the world today is the USA, especially under president Donald Trump. During the Cold War, the fundamentally opposing ideologies of Capitalism and Communism were the basis of long term conflict between the USA and USSR.
