The excretory system is an organ system in animals that removes the waste products from cells.

About the Excretory System

Some of the waste produced by cells are toxic to cells so the excretory system also removes toxins from the blood.

The excretory system is made of the following parts:

• The Kidneys - Which filter the blood to remove waste.
• The Ureters - Tubes which transport urine from the kidneys to the bladder.
• The Bladder - Where urine is stored before being released.
• The Urethra - A tube to allow urine to be released from the bladder.
