To measure is to find out the size of something.

About Measuring

Measuring is when we find out how big or small something is.
You can measure lots of different things about an object like how big it is, how hot it is or how quickly it moves.

Examples

A scientist wants to find the height of a tower.
A scientist uses a ruler to find out how wide the door is.
A scientist used a timer out how long they take to eat a sandwich.

To measure is to use a scientific instrument to find the size or a amount of something.

About Measuring

When you measure something you have to be careful to use your scientific instrument carefully to get the right measurement.
You must use the right tool for the job. You must use a ruler to measure height, a timer to measure time and a thermometer to measure temperature.
