[[Hydrocarbon]]s can be split into two groups:
*[[Alkane]]s - Which have only [[Single Bond|single bonds]] between [[Carbon]] [[atom]]s.
*[[Alkene]]s - Which have one or more [[Double Bond|double bonds]] between [[Carbon Atom]] [[atom]]s.
Small [[hydrocarbon]] [[molecule]]s are given names based on the number of [[Carbon]] [[atom]]s they contain:
*Meth - 1 [[Carbon]] ([[Methane]])
