Meaning
A ciliated epithelial cell is a specialised animal cell with many small hairs called ‘cilia’.
Adaptations of Ciliated Epithelial Cells
- Ciliated Epithelial Cells have many cilia to sweep mucus along.
About Ciliated Epithelial Cells
- Ciliated epithelial cells are found inside the lungs and in the oviducts.
- Ciliated epithelial cells sweep the mucus up and out of the lungs.
- Mucus in the lungs traps micro-organisms that the cilia sweep out of the lungs.
