Key Stage 4
Meaning
Urine is a solution made from urea and water which is taken from the blood by the kidneys in the process of excretion.
About Urine
- Urine is produced in the kidneys which filter the blood to remove water, urea and some other chemicals.
- Urine passes from the kidneys to the bladder via the ureters. The urine is stored in the bladder before it is released from the body via the urethra.
- The colour of urine can give information about whether an animal is dehydrated. If the urine is dark in colour the animal needs more water.
