The atria are chambers in the heart where blood enters through veins.

The atria are separated from the ventricles by heart valves.

The heart has two atria. A right atrium and a left atrium

The right atrium receives deoxygentated blood from the body though a vein called the Vena Cava and pumps it into the right ventricle.

The left atrium receives oxygentated blood from the lungs though a vein called the Pulmonary Vein and pumps it into the left ventricle.
