Meaning
This picture shows a Leslie cube in visible light and in Infra-red. It can be seen that a black surface emits radiation more quickly than a reflective surface and that a white surface emits more radiation than a "mat" diffusely reflective silvered surface.
A Leslie cube is a piece of experimental equipment used to demonstrate how black body radiation is affected by the colour of a surface.
