Key Stage 4
Meaning
A clone is a genetically identical copy of an organism.
About Clones
- Mitosis results in the production of clones.
- Plants can be cloned easily as any cell can become a stem cell which can differentiate to become any cell in a plant. This can even be done by simply cutting the plant in half and allowing both halves to grow.
- Humans can be cloned using juvenile stem cells. Identical twins are natural clones that have been formed without human interference.
