Meaning

A diploid cell contains only a full set of chromosomes.

About Haploid Cells

Diploid cells are produced by mitosis or by fertilisation when two haploid cells fuse together.
Chromosomes in a diploid cell are arranged in pairs.
In a human a diploid cell contains 23 pairs chromosomes (46 chromosomes).
