Meaning

Phototropism is a growth response in plants in which their growth responds to light intensity.

About Phototropism

Phototropism can be positive or negative.
In the shoot system of plants the growth is due to positive where the shoots grow towards the light.
In the root system of plants the growth is due to negative where the roots grow away from the light.
