A flower is a bright colourful part of a plant that has petals.

Singular Noun: Flower
Plural Noun: Flowers

About Flowers

There are many different flowers with different colours and different shapes. They have a centre surrounded by petals.

The Daisy is a flower that has white petals and a yellow centre. A Dandelion is a wild flower with yellow petals. A Rose is a flower with red petals. A Poppy has red petals and a black centre that make the flower.

Different Tulips can have different coloured petals. A Sunflower is a flower that grows at the end of a very long stem. A Daffodil is a yellow flower that grows from a bulb. A Foxglove is a poisonous flower.

A flower is a plant organ in the reproductive system of a plant.

About Flowers

Flowers are colourful to attract insects and birds. The insects and birds pollinate the flowers.

This flower has been pollinated by an insect. The flower wilts and begins to die and a fruit begins to grow at the bottom of the flower. The fruit grows with seeds inside it. The fruit and Seeds continue to grow. The fruit ripens and the seeds are ready to be spread.
