Key Stage 4

Meaning

A diagram showing the 4 chambers of the heart with the atria at the top.

The atria are chambers in the heart where blood enters through veins.

About the Atria

The heart has two atria. A right atrium and a left atrium
The right atrium receives deoxygentated blood from the body though a vein called the Vena Cava.
The left atrium receives oxygentated blood from the lungs though a vein called the pulmonary vein.
