About Carnivores

Carnivores usually have sharp teeth or a sharp beak and claws to catch and eat their prey. Some carnivores hunt their own food and are called predators. Other carnivores find animals that are already dead to eat them. They are called scavengers.

Examples

An eagle is carnivorous because it uses its sharp beak and talons to catch and eat small animals. A shark is a carnivore that lives in the sea and will eat any other animal.
A polar bear has sharp teeth and claws to eat seals and whales, making it a carnivore. A crocodile is a carnivore with a very large mouth and sharp teeth it uses to bite, kill and eat other animals.
