Key Stage 4
Meaning
Deforestation is when humans remove large numbers of trees from an area of land.
About Deforestation
- Deforestation destroys the habitat for communities in an ecosystem.
- Forests act as carbon sinks so deforestation reduces their ability to take in as much Carbon Dioxide which contributes to global warming.
- Deforestation in some regions with poor quality soil can also lead to desertification.
