An endocrine gland is a tissue which is adapted to secrete hormones.

About Endocrine Glands

Endocrine glands produce and then release hormones into the blood stream.
Endocrine glands are part of a coordination system which controls the behaviour of organs around the body known as target organs.
Different endocrine glands are responsible for producing different hormones which affect different target organs.
