A precaution is anything done to reduce the risk posed by a hazard.
About Precautions
- Precautions may reduce the risk by avoiding the hazard or taking action which makes the hazard less like to cause harm.
- Some precautions that may be taken are:
- Wear Safety Gloves - To reduce the chance of corrosive or toxic chemicals getting on the skin or prevent burning by hot objects.
- Wear Safety Spectacles - To reduce the chance of harmful, irritant or hot materials getting into the eyes.
- Wear Safety Goggles - To reduce the chance of harmful, irritant, corrosive, toxic or hot materials getting into the eyes.
- Wear a Labcoat - To reduce the chance of corrosive chemicals getting on the clothes and reduce the chance of clothes catching fire.
- Use Tongs - To prevent hot objects coming in contact with the skin.
- Use a Test Tube Holder - To prevent a hot test tube coming into contact with the skin.
