About Soil

There are many different types of soil which depends on what rocks they are made from.
Soil can have either sand, volcanic ash (clay), ancient seashells (chalk) or no rock in it.
All soils have dead animal and plant material in them.
*Chalky Soil has chalk inside it and is light brown.
*Clay Soil is made mostly of volcanic ash and is either red-orange or blue-grey.
*Peat is a soil without any rock material in it and is very dark brown or black.
*Sandy Soil is made mostly of sand and is a light brown colour.
