===About Alkalinity===
: When a [[base]] [[dissolve]]s in [[water]] to produce an [[alkali]] not all of the [[Hydroxide Ion (Chemistry)|Hydrogen ion]]s will dissociate from the [[base]].
: The strength of an [[alkali]], or its [[alkalinity]], is determined by how easily [[Hydroxide Ion (Chemistry)|Hydroxide ions]] are formed.
