Meaning
A nuclear reactor is a machine used to control the rate of a nuclear chain reaction to heat something at a constant rate.
About Nuclear Reactors
- There are two main types of nuclear reactor:
- A Nuclear Fission Reactor - The nuclear fission of massive unstable isotopes into two daughter nuclei.
- A Nuclear Fusion Reactor - The nuclear fusion of small isotopes of Hydrogen into larger nuclei. This is not yet economically viable.
