A corrosive substance is one which can break down other materials or damage the skin.
About Corrosive Chemicals
- Corrosive chemicals can cause a rash if they get on the skin without immediately being washed off.
- Some corrosive chemicals are a gas and will damage the lungs if inhaled.
- Corrosive chemicals will damage some materials more than others.
- Acids are corrosive to metals but not usually ceramics or glass.
