Meaning

A tropic response is the response of plant roots and shoots to light and gravity.

About Tropic Responses

The response of a plant to light is known as phototropism.
The response of a plant to gravity is known as geotropism or gravitropism.
Tropic responses can be referred to as negative or positive. A negative tropism is when the plant grows away from the stimulus while a positive tropism is when the plant grows towards the stimulus.
