The y-intercept is where the line on a scatter graph meets the y-axis.

Meaning

The y-intercept is where the line on a scatter graph meets the y-axis.

About the y-intercept

If an experiment produces a scatter graph with a y-intercept but the relationship is supposed to be directly proportional then the y-intercept indicates the amount of systematic error in the experiment.
