Meaning
A plasmid is a small ring of chromosomal DNA found in a bacterium.
About Plasmids
- Plasmids are additional pieces of DNA to the loop of DNA found in bacteria.
- Plasmids are used in genetic engineering because they are small, simple lengths of DNA which can easily have genes added or removed.
