Key Stage 4
Meaning
Electron Transfer is a type of chemical reaction in which electrons from the Outer Shell of one atom move to the Outer Shell of another atom to form an Ionic Bond.
About Electron Transfer
- Electron Transfer reactions usually happen between Metal and Non-metal atoms.
- Electron Transfer happens when electrons in the outer shell of an atom have a greater force of attraction to the nucleus than electrons in the outer shell of another atom.
