Meaning

A Metal Oxide is a basic metal compound made of one or more Metal atoms and Oxygen atoms.

About Metal Oxides

Metal Oxides have a pH greater than 7
Some Metal Oxides are insoluble solids.
Some Metal Oxides dissolve in water to make Metal Hydroxides which are alkalis.
